How To Get Bigger, Stronger, and Faster
When you watch sports, there are many times where you’ll see the bigger, stronger, faster athlete dominate other players on the field.
Yes, the sport-specific skill is definitely the most important factor to becoming successful. However, what many athletes don’t realize is that building size, strength, and speed can exponentially improve those skills.
Now, when you have a combined set of sport skills and raw athleticism, you can be unstoppable.
So what is the easiest way to get bigger, stronger, faster?
Eat.
It’s that simple.
The athletes that I train and also see outside of Pursuit are usually underweight and are in need of putting on more muscle mass.
It’s great that they make the first step by seeking out a trainer to help with that. However, in my experience, the hardest part isn’t the workout, but it’s the nutrition.
Undersized athletes have a difficult time consuming enough calories to build the size and mass they need. I can give you the most perfect training program this world has ever seen, but if you’re not eating enough, your progress will be hindered. They also don’t realize that more muscle mass will help with building speed, power, and quickness as well.
Yes, as a beginner trainee, an athlete can still experience some gains, but it will stall pretty quickly if nothing about nutrition changes.
So, the number 1 thing an athlete should do after finding a training program is to simply eat more.
I’ll also hear this all the time…”I AM eating a lot!”
If you’re on a solid training program but you’re still not gaining weight or putting on more muscle, then you are NOT eating enough. It’s basic science.
Undersized athletes need to start with being more disciplined in consuming more calories. It will get uncomfortable and won’t be easy. But that’s when you can seek advice from qualified trainers and nutritionists for strategies to overcome those obstacles.
In conclusion, eat. Please. It can do wonders for your performance and results.
